The audit log is a comprehensive record of all changes made to the table. PowerTable's audit log is interactive and offers both search and filter options. It also allows you to download and export the logs.

This section provides information on how to access audit logs and other related features.

1. Track Changes

Click Setup > Audit tab to open the audit logs window.

The audit log displays detailed information about recent changes and updates to your table, keeping track of all modifications. The changes are classified into different tabs—Data, Access, etc. based on the type of change.

Data

The Data tab provides a chronological record of transactions and actions to track all data changes in the source table, as shown in the image below.

This log includes the row ID of the modified record, details of the modified columns, the previous and new values, the person who made the change, the date and time of the change, and the type of modification.

The audit log captures all the significant actions performed on the table, including Insert, Update, Delete, and Soft Delete.

Access

The Access tab keeps track of any changes to row and column access permissions, including who made the changes and when they were made.

Similarly, the Settings tab lists all changes to table settings and so on.

2. Search and Filter

You can use the 'Search' and 'Filter' options to look for specific changes made to a specific record.

The options available are as follows:

  1. Search Row ID - Enter the Row ID in this search box to search and track all changes made to a specific row. Based on the row ID, the logs are dynamically filtered and displayed.

  2. Action - You can filter records by their type of change, such as inserted, updated with a new value, deleted, or soft-deleted.

  3. Modified By - Use this filter to see changes made by specific members of your team.

  4. Last 30 Days - Use this filter to see changes made within the last 30 days or in a specific date range.

  5. Reset All - Select this option to remove all applied filters.

3. Export Logs

The Download Logs option allows you to download and export audit logs to Excel or CSV files or email them.

Approved By - When an approval system is in place, you can use this option to filter changes based on who approved them. contains more information about the approval workflow.
